my everyday style: work it girl, part one!

If you've been reading this blog for any time at all you will know that I am obsessed with making getting dressed EASY. You probably also happen to know that I am a denim-'til-death gal too... But recently I had a few work-ish events to attend where I needed to up my wardrobe game to some real live 'grown up' clothes... no jeans, no denim, no leather leggings (what I wear when I can't wear jeans).  At first I mourned.  But then I got shopping.

I really wanted to find a nice pair of dress pants with a nice blouse and maybe throw a blazer in there with it.  But it wasn't as easy as I hoped it would have been.  I shuffled through what felt like thousands of options and was completely exasperated.  If you work in an office you have probably felt this same way.  I wanted easy but I NEEDED dressy.  Then I had a major lightbulb moment and realized... if I go for a dress I can totally one-and-done this baby AND look good doing it.  So voila! Off to the dress section I went.

Nordstrom has hands down one of the best dress sections around. And if you need work dresses they TOTALLY have you covered.  I found this dress in a snap by simply visiting their Workwear Shop and searching through all the dresses they offer there. They also have a great "under $100" section for workwear, so if you are on a budget - head there first, you won't be disappointed with the selection!  Worried about sizing when ordering online? Who isn't!  Nordstrom has you covered there as well... just create a "True Fit Size Profile" and Nordstrom will make a size suggestion for you based on your profile.   This is one of my favorite Nordstrom features by far.  Especially since I LOVE shopping Nordstrom but I don't have one super close to my house so online shopping is the way to go.  This dress fit like a dream the minute I pulled it out of the box thanks to the True Fit suggestion.  And Nordstrom always has FREE shipping and FREE returns.  So you can shop your little heart out without worrying about annoying shipping fees.

Now on to this GORGEOUS dress... the fabric is a super fine gauge knit that is ultra flattering.  I can not tell you how much I fell in love with this dress.  The minute I put it on I felt like a million bucks.  Plus the length and cut of the shoulders makes it totally work appropriate.  This dress is perfect for the office, after-hours work events, public speaking engagements or would also be the perfect dress for a work trip.  It won't wrinkle and won't take up a ton of space in your suitcase.  I can't recommend it enough.

If you love this post... stay tuned, I've got one more "work wear" look for you coming up very soon that I think you will love too!
